To know someone who demonstrated a constant pursuit of a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior was a joy to witness, to know Barbara Nell Hamilton who exemplified this on a daily basis was an honor!
Barbara Hamilton joyfully made her way to the gates of heaven on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Barbara will be joining her husband, Bert Hamilton, who has been awaiting her arrival since his passing April 5, 2002. Other loved ones who predeceased Barbara and sang the day she joined them include her son Frankie Potter, mother Edna Perkins, father Clem Perkins, sister Marie DeWitt and brothers Sonny Perkins, Joe Perkins and Mitchael Perkins.
Barbara left behind a family who mourns their personal loss, but rejoices with excitement to know how pleased she is to be sitting at the right hand of our Father. Those left behind include her sister Peggy Teague of Waco, TX and aunt Neva Sanders of Norman, OK. Also are 5 children, Bill Potter of Charleston, SC; Connie Rogers (Alan) of Conway, SC; Fred Potter (Deborah) of Loganville, GA; Joe Potter (Patricia) of Ocala, FL and Al Hamilton of Melbourne Beach, FL, 12 grand children and 17 great-grandchildren.
Barbara was surrounded by her daughter, son and son-in-law during her passing at Tidelands Hospice House in Georgetown, SC. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home in Melbourne Beach, FL where she will be laid to rest beside Bert. A memorial donation may be made in lieu of flowers in her honor to Spirit of Truth Ministries at 5920 Leonard Loop, Myrtle Beach, SC 29588 843-215-5556. This ministry was organized by her dear friend Myra Murrow and provides assistance and ministry to senior citizens on the Grand Strand. This organization was instrumental in Barbara becoming involved in the Myrtle Beach community.
Barbara was born in Oglesby, TX and graced this earth with her presence for 79 wonderful years before her departure! We love you Grandma and have comfort knowing you will be watching over us! You will be missed by us all!
