Bill McClelland

Bill was born in Rockledge on Sept 14, 1958, and is survived by his wife Sue McClelland of 16 years; brother John (Bonnie) McClelland and nephews Kyle and Ryan, of Rockledge, FL; Mal (Jan) Hamilton, Lou Hamilton of Windsor Locks, CT; Georgia Veillon of Opelousas, LA; sister-in-law Kathy Mason of Sturbridge, MA; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland “Mac” McClelland and Margaret “Peg” McClelland of Rockledge, FL; mother-in-law, Elsie “Momma Goose” Mason of Hartford, CT; aunts and uncles Doug Hamilton, William Hamilton, Hollis “Jack” Hamilton, all from Windsor Locks, CT; Robert and Alice McClelland of Opelousas, LA; Azelia McClelland and Joseph McClelland of Lawtell, LA; and cousins Elizabeth Vellion Manuel, Eunice LA; and Lisa Veillon, Opelousas, LA; and family pet, Taz.

Bill was born in Rockledge, FL and graduated from the University of North Florida, in Jacksonville, FL. He began his career at the Kennedy Space Center as a Software Engineer, prior to the first Space Shuttle Launch. Later in his career, Bill worked in industry as a Software Quality Engineer. Although he worked throughout the United States, he was most proud of his accomplishments in supporting America’s Space Program and missed his days at the Rocket Ranch.

Bill’s passion was travelling, and he and Sue loved to visit the sites at home and abroad. He found great enjoyment by looking at the world through the lens of his many cameras, following his father’s passion as a photographer. He enjoyed watching his beloved FSU Seminoles football team and his favorite NASCAR drivers.

A private graveside service will be held April 18, 2020 at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.
