After graduating from Morgantown High School, she then graduated from West Virginia University with a major in Political Science and minors in Spanish and Latin American history. After her family moved to Florida in 1972, Brooke joined them in 1974. She moved to Orlando, FL, where she met and married Ralph Gay. They had two sons, Jonathan Eliason Gay and David Edward Gay. She found her two passions in Orlando, teaching elementary school and ballroom dancing.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Howard J. Eliason and Georgia Juanita Eliason. She is survived by her sons, Jonathan and David; her sister, Judith Eliason; her ex-husband, Ralph Gay; daughter-in-law, Nina Gay; and grandchildren, Joshua Eliason Gay and Emily Elizabeth Gay.
Viewing will be at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7700 Lake Andrew Drive, Melbourne, FL, on February 21 10AM. Services will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Orlando, FL.
