Over the years, Cal worked for Hughes Aircraft and Lockheed. She was an active member of the community. She was involved in numerous activities with St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockledge. When Cal married Jay, she became active in St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, continuing her involvement in several ministries even after Jay passed away. Within the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church community, she was a member of the choir, was on the landscaping committee and served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Cal was a devoted mother and grandmother. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings in her spacious backyard, cooking, doing puzzles and traveling to spend time with family and friends. Her beloved pastime, though, was tending to her own garden and flowers, as well as the gardens at Blessed Sacrament and St. Luke’s.
Several years ago, Cal traveled to Europe, visiting both Paris and Rome. She visited many sites on this trip, including Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and the Colosseum. The highlight, though, was that she was able to realize her dream of visiting the Vatican.
She never met a stranger. She went out of her way to help as many people as possible. She always wanted to give and to help. Everyone who met her loved her kind soul, gentle heart and positive attitude. She touched so many lives over the years.
The funeral mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 11 am on Sat., May 11, 2024. Prior, there will be a viewing from 10 am to 10:45 am also at the church. A committal service will follow the mass at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church or St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church.
