

Curt Mosley, 86, of Florida, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026. Born on December 2, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida, Curt lived a full and accomplished life defined by service, dedication, and a deep love for his family and community.
Curt attended Paxon High School, where he earned the nickname “Paxson Flash” as a standout athlete in multiple sports. His talent and determination led him to Florida State University on a football scholarship, where he continued to excel both on and off the field.
Following graduation, Curt answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. He attended Officer Candidate School and served on active duty for seven years, ultimately becoming a lieutenant commander aboard a naval destroyer. He continued his military service in the Navy Reserves for an additional 13 years, achieving the rank of commander. During his service, he traveled extensively throughout the Mediterranean during the Vietnam War, experiences that shaped his strong sense of duty and leadership.
After his military career, Curt pursued a law degree using the GI Bill, beginning a distinguished legal career that spanned decades. He served as City Attorney for the City of Cocoa and later became a partner at the law firm of Wolf, Kirshenbaum, and Mosley in Cocoa
Beach. In 1987, he co-founded the firm Mosley and Wallis, P.A., in Melbourne, where he practiced law until his retirement in 2020.
Curt was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his passions and loyalty. He was a devoted Florida Gators fan and spent more than 50 years attending football games - both home and away - creating cherished memories along the way.
Above all, Curt was a devoted husband. He shared a deep and lasting love with his wife, Cheryl Mosley, to whom he was married for 45 years and who preceded him in death in 2019.
He is survived by his two children, Tony and Ray; his brother, James Prescott; his sisters, Lynette Prescott and Bonnie Boni Nettles; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynne and Ed Gowins; and many beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He shared a particularly special bond with his nephew, Adam Sanders, to whom he was like a father.
There will be a visitation held at the Life Event Center on Thursday, March 26, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A service will be held the following morning, Friday, March 27, at 9:00 a.m. at the Life Event Center, followed by his interment at Florida Memorial Gardens.
Curt will be remembered for his strength, dedication, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
