David's life started on May 26, 1957 and ended on January 20, 2017 in a tragic boating accident in Lake Placid, Florida. The term “Celebration of Life” is typically used only at the end of life but David's family and friends have celebrated his presence from the start.
His parents, Martha (Boots) and Harvey brought him home from the hospital when he was just three days old, placed him in the center of a large bed and proudly showed him off to a joyous set of new grandparents. After the usual expressions of joy and wonder, this new grandmother having the benefit of motherly experience, provided a hint of what was to come by saying “that before this child is grown your eyes will pop out of your head” and pop out they did as he grew to a wonderful and active young man with a huge taste for life's adventures. His greatest adventure was his early marriage to the love of his life, Teresa, aboard the Queen Mary permanently docked in San Diego, California, in July of 1981. This marriage produced other adventures, Dawn and Dustin, his children and Ariel and Brantlee, his grandchildren.
Meeting David for the first time you would be greeted with a warm and bone crushing handshake bringing a smile to your face, which in itself transmitted the basic love he had for people. David's presence always added sunshine to the atmosphere. It is no wonder that his home was the central hub for friends and neighbors over the years.
David grew up in a family associated with the construction industry and so it was natural for him to continue this association, working closely with his uncles he admired and respected. Among his tastes for life's adventures was shooting and fishing. Shooting with his uncle and brothers and fishing with close buddies can be listed as his favorite hobbies. However, as much as he enjoyed these pastimes, time with his family always had first priority in his busy life. He truly loved his family and never hesitated to demonstrate his feelings.
David will be sorely missed, his memory cherished, never to fade.
David is survived by his parents, Boots and Harvey, his wife, Teresa, children, Dawn (Kendrick) and Dustin, grandchildren Ariel and Brantlee, Kambrie and Stratton, his brothers Allen and Dean.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 S. US Hwy #1, Rockledge, Fl. . Visitation will be at 10 am, followed by a Funeral Service at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please make a donation to the Cancer society.
The family requests that if you wish to wear a fishing shirt in celebration of David, please feel free to do so.
