Dorothy Louise Scherff

She was born to Cecilia and John McGinn, Sr. on February 19, 1935, in Queens, NY. After graduating from Northport High School in 1953, Dorothy began a career with the New York Telephone Company. Soon after, she met her husband, Charles Scherff. They married in 1957 and together they had five children: Mary (David), Robert (Sheila), James (Eileen), David (Michelle), and Susan. Dorothy and Charles had 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Jack (Gail) and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy and Charles happily lived on Merritt Island for over 54 years.

Dorothy was a hard working mother who also retired from Bell South, where she was employed for many years. She was a long standing member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church. She was a strong woman with a great amount of sass and a wonderful sense of humor.

Services have been scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church on Merritt Island, Florida. The viewing will be at 10:30 am in the chapel followed by a mass in the church at 11:00 am.

She will be missed in this world as she goes to spend eternity with her Charlie and the Lord. Rest easy, Mom.
