To all who knew her “Liz” was born a sweet, sensitive and caring Pisces on February 22, 1959. To proud parents Elisa and Genaro Fernandez in Peru. There was so much love in her family of 7. She loved her siblings so much; older brother Alberto, younger sister Liliana, youngest to all little brother Marco and Dachshund Rocky. Liz’s Father passed away when she was just a teenager. Such sadness came over the family, but her Father brought another special man (or boy) to her life, because that same year she met the love of her life, Manuel. Although he moved away few years later they never forgot each other. The two became reacquainted at 17 then were set to marry at 21 years old. Liz began a new adventure; she came to a new country with a strange language, went from knowing everyone to only one. How difficult it was for her in the beginning, but she surpassed. Embraced her new life and soon became a wonderful mother to her two daughters, Nicole and Priscilla.
Being an Air Force Wife she traveled all around the world with her family, always sticking together. She flourished in each station - Panama, Venezuela, Florida, Colorado. A working mom at the Air Force Bases, United States Embassy and wherever she was needed all the while taking care of her precious joys, her daughters and her fur babies, Benji, Melody and Mickey. Once back in the States she found her true passion, a career in nursing and caring for the elderly. She worked tirelessly and selflessly in Nursing Homes as well as in private home care, just another place she could spread her love. Liz was also very passionate about her faith. Every year she would march in the walk for El Señor de los Milagros and had a daily commitment to pray for others in the Adoration Chapel.
Just when one couldn’t believe she could give more love, it surpassed all when her grandchildren Elise (7) Brayden (4) Chloe (4 months) were born into the family and into her heart. She was retired and became a full-time Mimi. There will be no one as selfless and caring as their Mimi.
She is now reunited with her Papa and precious doggies she loves so much. She is happy and spreading her love even more. She is deeply missed by all the lives she has touched, especially her family.
A Memorial Service is scheduled Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ascension Catholic Church, 2950 N Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32935. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL.
