

Eric Simon, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and community servant, passed away at his home with his loving family surrounding him on May 15, 2025, at the age of 94. Eric lived a life centered on family and service to others.
Born June 3, 1930, Eric, a holocaust survivor and proud American citizen, built a life rich with many accomplishments. After serving in the United States Air Force, he enjoyed a distinguished and successful career as lead engineer of the master console for the Space Shuttle Program at Kennedy Space Center, where he worked for more than three decades in the early days of the former Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, now Kennedy Space Center, receiving multiple awards for excellence. He provided his expertise in the Apollo Program, that landed the first humans on the moon.
Beyond his professional achievements, Eric cherished time with family, his beloved wife, Gloria, of 72 years, his four children and their spouses, nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, who lovingly called him, Opa. All brought him immense pride and joy.
In retirement, Eric gave generously of his time as a dedicated community volunteer, again earning many awards for service, for over thirty years, with Aging Matters Senior Services Organization. His tireless contributions and humble service, until the age of 93, made a difference in the lives of so many, as he volunteered for Brevard Sharing Center, Meals on Wheels, and Volunteers in Motion.
His life was a gift to all who knew him and his legacy of love, service and strength will continue to shine through those he touched.
In accordance with Eric’s wishes, the family will be honoring his life privately.
A life well lived, a heart well loved, Eric Simon will be deeply missed by all and forever remembered.
