April 8, 1960 – August 3, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Esther A. (Headley) DeCruise-Williams, affectionately known as Queen Esther, who departed this life on August 3, 2025, at the age of 65.
Born on April 8, 1960, in Georgetown, Guyana, Esther lived a life marked by strength, grace, and unshakable faith. She was a woman who gave generously of herself—loving deeply, working tirelessly, and always standing firm for those she loved.
Esther was a gifted and passionate chef whose food nourished both body and soul. Her cooking was the heart of many celebrations, filled with the flavors of her heritage and the love that defined her every dish. Her kitchen was a sanctuary, and her meals were an extension of her warmth.
She was the devoted wife of Bernard Williams, beloved mother of Kalisha Wachira and Conrad DeCruise Jr., step-mother of Antonie Murray and the proud grandmother of Tahlia DeCruise, Tatyana DeCruise, Amara Wachira, and Maya Wachira. She also leaves behind father in law, Henry Stroman, two brother in laws, Judge Weldon (Sherry) and Freeman Williams, a sister in law, Kim Williams-Thomas (Jerome), and a host of nieces and nephews. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy lives on in each of them. In a poignant and deeply emotional turn, Esther passed away just one day after celebrating her son Conrad’s wedding—a final gift to witness his joy, surrounded by family and love. That moment, full of happiness and togetherness, is a memory we will cherish always.
Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23: "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want..." A passage that reflected the peace and assurance she carried in her heart throughout life. Known lovingly as Queen Esther, she walked with quiet dignity, strength, and purpose. She was a pillar of her family and community, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
