Eunice Louise "Dee" Porter

Dee was born in Elyria, Ohio on May 28, 1938. She was a member of Eau Gallie First Baptist Church in Melbourne for 32 years.

She had a degree in Biological Science, Post graduate work in Psychology Counseling, RN with Medical Intensive Care (MICU) and Burn Care experience. She taught adult education at BCC, parenting classes at Pregnancy Resources, Bible School, Girls in Action (GA) and the Doers of the Word (DOW) Sunday School class.

Dee was a former member of Who’s Who in American Nursing. As a Nurse she toured hospitals in Ireland, Scotland, and England. She was a volunteer at Guardian Ad Litem for Children. She served on the Brevard County Baptist Disaster Relief team working with special needs people during Hurricane Katrina in Hattiesburg, MS.

Dee was a volunteer at Spacecoast Seafarers Ministry, Brevard Rescue Mission, and Wuesthoff Hospice. She also volunteered for medical and evangelistic mission work in Romania and Spain. She gave her time for mission work in the USA in Jacksonville, FL, and Mandan, ND.

Dee is survived by her husband of 33 years, Larry Porter (AKA Bear or Santa Bear), 1 Brother, Eugene Herrmann (wife Mary) and 1 Sister, Martha Anne Sturgill, 3 daughters, Lisa Louise Hill, Kimberly (Kym) Kaye Shoults (husband Johnny) and Melinda (Mindy) Jane Dempsey (husband Steve), 3 Sons, Lance Duane Porter, Steven Van Hill (wife Meilie) and Malcolm Layne Porter,13 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren.
