Harold Edgar Lewis

Harold was born in Harmarville, Pennsylvania, April 13, 1928, to James E. and Viola C. Lewis. He felt called to duty in 1945 and served during World War II in the Navy on the U.S.S. Maury.

After serving his country, he worked at Atlantic and Westinghouse. He received his life calling and attended the Police Academy in Hershey, Pennsylvania, then went on to serve with the O'Hara Township Police Department. He departed O'Hara and moved to the District Attorney's Office in Pittsburgh to do fingerprinting and photography.

Harold moved to Cocoa, Florida in 1965 to take a security position at Cape Canaveral. While there, he attended Brevard Community College to receive a degree in Criminal Justice. Upon completion, he joined the Cocoa Beach Police Department, where he served as a Detective until retirement.

Being a lover of community, he went to work for Scotty's in Cocoa until he fully retired from working.

He married Donna A. Shriver August 7, 1949. Their love and commitment lasted just over 70 years. And, they were blessed with two children: Diane (Robert) Keeling and Harold "Hal" (Stephanie) Lewis.

Harold was very much a family man. He was the oldest brother of 8 siblings that are now sprinkled throughout the U.S.- Rachel Coates of PA, John Lewis of NC, Virginia (Jack) Fink of SC, Eleanor (James) Hayes of MA, David (Christine) Lewis of CA, James (Roberta) Lewis of PA, and Robert (Justine) Lewis of AZ.

Over the years, he was able to see his children grow up, marry, and have children of their own, Stephanie (Chris) Hall, Heather James, Tiffany Andrews, Levi (Anna) Lewis, Haley (Coty) Lee, Todd Keeling, and Dana (Doni) Keeling, and Brittany Williams.

He also saw his grandchildren grow up, marry, and have his great-grandchildren, who were his greatest joy Clay James, Christopher Hall, Tyler Story, Kostin Lewis, along with eight others living in the Midwest.

Harold is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He will be laid to rest at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida. A family Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.
