

Ingrid was born on May 17, 1942 in Neulussheim, Germany and passed away peacefully surrounded by love, at the age of 79, on October 7, 2021. She met the love of her life, James A. "Jim" Johnson, in her home town of Neulussheim, Germany in 1960. Jim was in the US Army, stationed in Germany where he met Ingrid at the local town ice cream shop and they fell instantly in love. After being shipped back stateside, Jim saved up money and sent Ingrid a ticket. At 19 yrs old, in November 1961, Ingrid moved across the ocean to a foreign country, where she didn't speak the language, all in the name of love. She and Jim married November 27, 1961 and were happily married until Jim's death on July 18, 2018.
Ingrid was a loving wife, mother, Sister, Grammy, Omi, Tante, Aunt, and awesome friend, beloved by all. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle D. "Micky" Johnson and son, Michael A. Johnson (Diane). She has one granddaughter Cindy M. Whitten (David), and three grandsons Christopher M. Julius Williams, John R. White (Melissa), Jonathan D.D. Johnson. Ingrid was blessed with eight grandchildren who were the lights of her life - Courtney C. White, Arthur "AJ" White, Felicity "Fifi" White, Melina M. White, Isabelle J. "Bella" Williams, Isaac B. Williams, Ryan J. Joyce, and Declan P. Joyce. She is also survived by her beloved eldest sister Traudel Eppel and many nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews and much extended family. She was predeceased by her sister Doris (Walter) Schlusche, in Neulussheim, Germany and her brother-in-law Alwin Eppel (sister Traudel's husband).
Ingrid worked as a graphic artist in the commercial printing industry. She was a very talented artist and loved to draw, paint, sketch, crotchet, craft and was a very talented photographer. She loved all animals and took extreme pleasure in raising and caring for butterflies, seeing the value in all living things. Her greatest love was her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was always very proud of them.
Services will be held at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens on Thursday October 14, 2021. visitation from 10am to 12pm, services to commence at 12pm, graveside interment to follow the service. There will be a catered reception to follow at the Life Event Center.
