James Harold Bragg, Maj. US Army Ret

James was born to parents, Orland Roscoe Bragg and Goldie Evalena Wine Miller Bragg in Gasaway, WV on September 18, 1935. He graduated from Gassaway High School in 1953 and went on to college at Rollins University to earn his Bachelor Degree in History and Economics.

Mr. Bragg carries an extensive military history with service in the National Guard from 1952 to 1954. He then joined the US Army from 1954 to 1974 during which time he graduated the Primary Leadership Development Course and was also awarded the Officer’s Commission in 1963.

James was a member of several organizations including the NRA, the Past Master Masonic Lodge #318 as a 32nd degree mason, and the Scottish Rite Organization. Among so many other achievements he’d also had several articles published in the Today Newspaper and was the owner of two bookstores over an 18 year period.

James is survived by wife, Loretta J. Bragg of Melbourne, FL; Daughter, Catherine S. Bragg of Melbourne, FL; Sons, James H. Bragg, Jr. of Holly Springs, NC, Allen R. Bragg of Titusville, FL and Bruce G. Bragg of Melbourne, FL; Grandchildren, James D. Bragg, Brian S. Bragg, Vanessa J. Koliadko, Amber E. Parnell, Nicholas, Amanda, Ariel, Matthew, Kyle and Emily Bragg, Brandon Williams, Jeremy Anderson and Jessica Hennesee; Great-grandchildren, Emily, Zachery, Julia and Arianna Bragg, Maxwell Koliadko, and Ava Williams, Eddie and Melody Parker, Maegan and Elena Parnell, and Zoey, Mylah and Jazmine Bragg.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 from 10am to 11am at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL, with a funeral service to follow at 11am. Interment will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens.
