

James was born to James Marion Parks and Elizabeth Worthy Parks on September 3, 1946 in Greenwood, Mississippi. He and his brothers Joe and John grew up in Doddsville, MS and later moved to Drew, MS as teenagers when their parents died.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Joe.
James is survived by his twin brother John M. Parks of Merritt Island FL., sister-in-law Wanda Humpston Parks of Oak Ridge TN, nephew Joe W. Parks Jr. (Sharie), and their children Anna and Eli of Portland, OR.
After graduating from Drew High School in 1964, James earned a BS in electrical engineering from Mississippi State University. In 1969 he moved to Cocoa Beach Fl. and three years later to Merritt Island Fl to work for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. James received many awards while working for NASA including the NASA Exceptional Service Medal. He retired in 2000 as a NASA Communication Manager. During retirement James enjoyed golfing and woodworking. James was a beloved brother who will never be forgotten and lives in the hearts of all that loved and knew him.
A Graveside Service was held at 10:00 am Wednesday November 16 at the Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida.
