Jeanne Marie Armentrout, 78, passed away peacefully at home on July 10th in Rockledge, Florida. She was born to George and Helen (Carver) Stoeckel in Binghamton, New York. She was their eldest child and only daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and five of her seven brothers: Peter (Melania), Mark, Daniel, James, and Frank. She is survived by her brothers William and George.
Jeanne is also survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Rick Armentrout. They were married in New York on July 12, 1969. They have five children: Katie Anderson (Bill), Jennifer Maslowski, Richard Armentrout, Noelle Botkin (James), and Teresa Yarde. She was a proud Grandma to 12 grandchildren: Tim, Austin, Madalyn, Lynne, Julia, Nikolos, Victoria, Paige, Matthew, Allissa, Samantha, and Westley.
Jeanne was always a voracious reader and loved to learn. She attended Annhurst College in Putnam, Connecticut and graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy in 1969. She later attended Brevard Community College in Cocoa, Florida where she graduated with her Associate’s Degree. She began working in accounting and later retired from Northrop Grumman.
Jeanne was a loving and selfless soul. She worked tirelessly for her family, taking care of her husband, children, and grandchildren in turn. She was wicked smart, but in a quiet way. She could win at any trivia game, with a sly smile on her face. She enjoyed cooking and was always looking for new recipes to try. She will be missed dearly and will leave an empty space in her family and friend groups.
Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing on Sunday, July 20th from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial (5950 S US Hwy 1, Rockledge, FL 32955). A funeral mass will be held on Monday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (1136 Seminole Drive, Rockledge, FL 32955) with burial to follow at Florida Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
