I hadn’t seen Jerry or Eric and Michael for years. But they are all part of my childhood memories. I loved traveling to Satellite Beach to stay with them and swim in the pool and go to the beach. I remember it so well. And Jerry, I’ve never known someone to give off such a calm, steady, warm mood. He and my dad were good friends and they shared their families together. Jerry even let me drive Bertha (what I named her) the green VW van for 2 years in college in Miami. I’m grateful for the memories I have with the Johnson family. Even though it was eons ago, I carry them with me. I hope happy memories of Jerry boring Eric and Michael and BJ comfort.

Please accept my condolences for the loss my very good friend and US Air Force co worker in the US Space Program. Jerry was Chief of the Launch Vehicle Division in the 6555thAerospace Test Group at Cape Canaveral Air ForceStation. He provided outstanding leadership and results in the processing and launch of Titan Space Booster Rockets that carried high priority National Security and Military Satellites into orbit. Jerry will always be remembered as a true friend and outstanding officer who contributed immensely to the success of the US Space Program. He is a real Pioneer in both the military and civilian Space Enterprises.

How I would love to see that beautiful smile again. Jerry was one of the best caretakers for his younger family members. Many memories were made living on Cub Street in Kannapolis. I will miss you so much. Love to BJ, Michael, Eric and all the family who loved him so much.

To the family of Jerry Johnson and especially to my Godmother, my Aunt Sue Johnson Gentry, my mother Linda Goforth, and I are so very sorry for the loss of Jerry. He was so very precious to us. My mom has always had wonderful stories growing up with Aunt Sue and stories about Jerry. From the time I was born I have been in the Johnson family and my mother and Sue have been friends since they were 10 yrs old. (64 years of friendship), And her memories of Jerry are so wonderful. He will be forever in our hearts. You will all be in our thoughts, prayers, and hearts as you go through this trying time with the loss of such a sweet caring man. I will always remember his smile and his kindness. May God bless you, guide you, and be with you all, Amen (Linda Goforth Clayton and Tracy Brooks)
