Many years ago, I was a classmate to Barb at Geneva High School and had the pleasure of visiting her home and meeting her parents who were always gracious, kind, and made me feel welcome. My sincere condolences to Barb, Bonnie, and John and their families on the loss of their beloved  father and grandfather. Through my friendship with Barb, I could see how much he loved his family and made their home a place of laughter and fun .

MY WIFE DEE AND I KNEW JACK AND BARB AND THEIR FAMILY SINCE 1970.  A WONDERFUL FAMILY.
THIS ALL STARTED WHEN I WAS HIRED BY GOULDS PUMPS OF WHICH JACK WAS EMPLOYED AND A SENIOR MANAGER.
IN 1976 JACK PROMOTED ME TO THE GENERAL MANAGER OF SALES AND MY AGE WAS 29.  THIS WAS QUITE A DARING MOVE ON HIS PART AS THE PREFERRED CANDIDATES WERE OLDER AND MORE MORE EXPERIENCED IN THE BUSINESS.  IT WORKED OUT, JACK AND I WENT ON TO  RESTRUCTURE THE ENTIRE SALES AND MARKETING DEPARTMENT AND ACHIEVED EXCELLENT SUCCESS FOR THE COMPANY..
THIS SHORT STORY IS WHAT JACK WAS ALL ABOUT.  A MAN THAT STUDIED THE SITUATION WELL, WHATEVER IT WAS, AND WOULD MAKE A DECISION FOR THE BETTERMENT OF ALL.
JACK, YOU ARE A LEGEND IN MY MIND AND I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU AND BARB.  I WISH DEE WAS WITH US TODAY AS SHE WOULD SURELY ADD ADDITIONAL POSITIVE THOUGHTS.

Jack was a more than just a neighbor in Florida he was the kind of  friend that many  never have in a lifetime,   So many memories have surfaced since learning of his death that have not only provided comfort but bring the realization that i have been so fortunate to have known him.  Viewing the pictures his family had posted was a wonderful treat and I appreciate  being able to celebrate his life with you and it was certainly a good life.  
My love to his family and will keep you in my prayers,

We could fill a book with details of the laughter, the tears, the shared meals, the advice, the little favors, the wisdom, the stories, the celebrations, the memories, the opinions and even the heartbreaks shared over the course of the last 7 years of knowing Jack Geiger.
It was our pleasure and privilege to have been Jack and Barb’s neighbors and friends. To have had the honor of witnessing their love, their strength, their faith and eventually sharing in each of their passings is something we hold sacred in our lives.  We considered them family. We would like to thank Jack and Barb’s family dearly for allowing us a place at the table during visits. Gosh, Jack loved you all so much and wasn’t afraid to shed a tear when he told us the latest news about any of you.  We are so grateful for the hope of heaven. It gives us great peace knowing Jack and Barbara are reunited. 
And now, since he has changed his address to his eternal home, we sure miss seeing that little Miata and bucket hat coming up the street. He was one in a million.

Our fondest memory of Jack was approximately one year ago when we moved in to Baytree from NJ; only 2 houses away from Jack.   He was the very first person to welcome us to Arundel.  We remember how dapper he was driving in his car, rolling down  the window and saying " Hi I'm Jack!  anything you need just call me then he followed with a joke and a huge smile.   My husband and I said he must be the Mayor of Baytree!!.  His zest for life was our biggest take away, he will forever be a treasured memory in our hearts and truly missed.  God Bless our angel in heaven.

THE TRUE MEASURE OF A MAN. 
John Geiger, Jack, as he was affectionately called was a man of presence. 
For the short time I knew him I enjoyed his witty sense of humor and truly admired his no nonsense attitude.
He always wanted to make sure that everything that’s important was taken care of and in the correct manner. 
He had such great regard and respect for people and genuinely cared about their wellbeing. 
I truly regret not getting the opportunity to spend more time with him. However, I am so thankful to have been blessed by his presence . 
Gods speed Jack. You will always be in our hearts.

In 1983, Jack was leaving Goulds Pumps to start one of the very first of a new model of independent Industrial Pump distributors.  That new Baltimore based company would be displacing the Goulds Pumps direct sales operation that I belonged.  I have had many professional breaks in my life, but none bigger than Jack selling me on the opportunity to join him at Geiger Pump and Equipment.  I was 26.  Thank you, Jack!

So we began working the business; Jack, Barbara, and me, to start.  We worked with enthusiasm.  We had many challenges, and Jack backed me at every turn. Thanks again, Jack, I needed the backing!  We were a great team. We added a person at a time, growing the business every year.  Many of our early additions, Jim, Joyce, John, Todd, Todd, Chris, are still with us. 

Along the way, Jack retired, of course.   For me, I was President for 27 great years. Geiger is still a playground for my business life and I am honored to have a great team run the company as I preside as CEO in recent years.  Lessons long ago learned, and knowing what Jack would do, are in my tool box, still having my back.  

Today, at Geiger Pump and Equipment, most of our team never knew Jack in person.  But his legacy, including his namesake, are bigger than life. In many ways, Jack is still with us.  We are the largest pump and related process equipment distributor in the Mid Atlantic.  It is a great place to work, building careers and lifetimes of benefits for our employees and our community. Our company is a great tribute to Jack and Barbara, I know they are proud.

Lorna and I dined with Jack and Barbara on Friday nights for several years . They were a sweet couple and cherished friends .
Jack regaled us on the finer points of food preparation and presentation . He held strong opinions about politics and shared them enthusiastically . His opinions about sporting events was somewhat more limited but did not dissuade him from making small bets . His form of payment was always very public and surprising . New $2 bills , $1 coins and 100 pennies were among them .
He would often bring small , thoughtful gifts to the ladies at the table , he loved life .  May you rest in Eternal Peace with Barbara my friend . You will be missed .

I was fortunate to know & work with Jack and Barbara. They were both special in their own ways.

A number of years ago, Jack called our office for an appointment. He specifically requested a time that was after the market close. At 4:00 Jack came in with a brown paper bag. Imagine my surprise when he pulled out a bottle of Patron Tequila, salt, a lime, and 2 shot glasses. After tipping a couple back Jack said, "I want to talk about commissions. Let's get down to business!"

It was the 1st and LAST time I ever had a drink at work.

Jack and Barbara were our beloved neighbors in Florida for many years. Watching them together, so clearly in love with each other after over half a century of marriage, was an inspiration to all who witnessed it. While those of us left behind will miss Jack, we know how happy he is to be reunited with Barbara and that brings me great joy.  I'll forever picture Jack bombing around in his little convertible, always with a wave and a smile. I will always remember how devoted he was to caring for the love of his life, as she suffered with strength, but grew weaker. What a blessing to have known them both, and to know they are now enjoying eternity together.

I knew Jack and Barbara for over 5 years as Barbara fought Multiple Myeloma.  Jack lovingly stood by Barbara's side through it all.  The love that I saw between those two people was something that you see only rarely.  Jack was always so concerned about Barbara's results and questioned and researched every change made to her care that I would call him "Dr.  Geiger".   I always looked forward to my visits with Jack and Barbara because we spent more time talking about everything else in life but medicine.  Even after Barbara passed, I stopped by to see Jack a couple of times.  I know that Jack is much happier now that he is with Barbara again....

 "You're in charge of my house," Jack said  when he went into Chateau Madeline.  I continue to take on that responsibility, keeping an eye on the house, for the  family.  Each time I go into his home, I don't feel sadness at all.  One would think that would be the obvious feeling seeing all his "spots" like the kitchen table where he parked himself every morning while I made him breakfast or at his desk playing computer games or taking a snooze in the family room.  He was down right spoiled - by his loving wife - he readily admitted, with a sly little smile. But, in spite of his demands and wanting what he wants and  everything  being "just so," as I'm sure his family can attest, HIS HEART WAS CARVED FROM PURE GOLD! The bottom line to all of this is he was a love sick gentleman who never ever ever  ever  forgot his wife.  Do I feel sadness in his passing?  No.  I feel happiness - he has rejoined his loving wife and he, again, has everything he ever wanted - his soul mate, his love, his wife.  

Dear family,
We have known your Dad (and Mom) for more than 69 years.
We were in each others weddings and have kept in touch ,always.
Loved them both and your Dad was always so faithful in calling us and  we would meet in Orlando for lunch, on occasion.
We miss them but know that we will meet again in heaven in the not too distant future.
God bless you all and we hold you close in our prayers.

You were the best Dad ever. You and Mom (as individuals) and your beautiful marriage were all shining examples to your children and grandchildren and everyone who knew you. You loved life fully and loved God and your family above all. I am eternally grateful YOU were my Dad. I love you so much. Dance with Mom forever now Daddy, I miss you EVERY day and always will. 

My wife Marianne and I were friends with Jack and Barbara for many years.  We enjoyed their friendship and company for many Friday night dinners at the Suntree Country Club.  We miss them both.  May they enjoy eternity in heaven together.

I'm  so very sorry for your loss, and hope you take comfort in knowing that your mom and dad are reunited in the loving arms of our heavenly Father.
