Lee M. Weigel

Lee was born May 6, 1937 in New Orleans LA, the daughter of Charles & Freda

Morris. Lee’s family relocated to Providence RI shortly after her birth and she

grew to adulthood there. Lee was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in

Providence during Holy Week in 1949. Lee graduated from high school in

Providence in 1955 and worked as a secretary for a short time before moving with

her mother & sister to Miami FL in 1956. Lee was an executive secretary in

Miami when she met Gunther Weigel at a Holly Cross Lutheran Church choir

rehearsal. They were united in marriage at Holy Cross Lutheran on April 13, 1958

and resided in Miami where they worked in the hotel business from 1964-1988.

Both Lee & Gunther were very active in the Miami Elks Lodge 948 where Lee

served as Elkette President and also President of the Florida State Ladies of Elks.

In 2002, Lee & Gunther relocated to Melbourne FL. Gunther passed away on Nov

9, 2009. Lee relocated to Heritage Isle in Viera FL in 2013. Lee was also

preceded in death by her grandparents, parents & sister, Gwendolyn Scott. Lee is

survived by her brother-in-law Gunther Weigel and sister-in-law Angel

Christenson. Visitation will be Sep 17, 2014 at 1PM at Advent Lutheran Church,

7550 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne FL 32940 with a Memorial Service to follow

at 2PM. Entombment will follow in Florida Memorial Gardens. Rockledge FL.
