Lucille Kunze of Melbourne Florida died Friday, April 29, 2011.
Born in Detroit, Michigan in1921, to Olive and Frederick Kohlmeyer.
Lucille was an excellent cook, and received her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics from Wayne State. Shortly after graduation, Lucille enlisted into the Navy as a WAVE. After serving her Country, she took a position with Detroit Edison as a cooking demonstrator of electrical appliances. It was during this time that she met her husband of 60 years, Frank Kunze.
Lucille's interests included cooking, bridge, and was a Master Gardener. Lucille also loved and cared for animals and while living in Slidell, LA, she was instrumental in securing a much needed animal shelter.
Lucille is survived by her husband Frank, daughter Glenna and her husband Dan Raidt and their son Evan, Barry and his wife Sonja, her brother Fred Kohlmeyer and his wife Faye and numerous nieces and nephews. Lucille also leaves behind her cat Pepper.
Services will be held on Tuesday, May 3 in the chapel at Florida Memorial Funeral Home Visitation from 1-2 p.m. Funeral Service - 2-3 p.m. Interment with military honors to follow at Florida Memorial Gardens.
