She is survived by her daughter, Maggie Starr (Mike Brown), her son, Jack Starr, her mother, Patricia Brady Barnette, her sister Peggy Barnette Dennison (Robert), her nieces, Katie Lynn Dennison-Bromfield (Sam) and Patty Dennison, and her sweet dog, Sammy and orange tabby, Joe Fuzzbucket, also many cousins and friends who loved her.
A lifelong resident of Brevard County, Florida, Lynn graduated from Satellite High School as a National Merit Scholar in 1975, and Case Western Reserve University in 1979. She worked as a software engineer until she retired in 2018. Lynn, or Lovely as she was known to many, had a huge heart which showed in her devotion to her family and friends, her adoration of all animals and her generosity to and empathy for the homeless.
We will be celebrating her life in a few months, outside: after all, Lynn would want everyone to bring their dogs! We will post an announcement of the place, date and time on Facebook and on this website.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brevard Humane Society, the Second Harvest Food Bank, Ovarian Cancer Research, or to Vitas Healthcare Inpatient Hospice (Rockledge), whose wonderful, caring staff helped Lynn’s final hours be as painless as possible. Or, when you see someone homeless on the street, give them twenty dollars – Lynn would.
On Lynn’s behalf, her family wants to thank her caregivers, friends and relatives for their love and support; as well as her oncologist, Dr. Bomalaski and his staff, the caring and dedicated nurses at the Health First Infusion Center, where she spent many, many hours during the last four years; and all of her friends and neighbors who helped us all through her fight with cancer. The world will be dimmer without Lynn’s unique charm.
A celebration of Lynn's life will be held 11/4/23 at 4pm in the park in her neighborhood, across from 3230 Arden Circle, Melbourne. Please bring a chair.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.FloridaMemorialFH-Gardens.com for the Starr family.
