Margaret Anne Dunning will be remembered by her son Mark, daughter Carol, & son-in-law Micheal; her granddaughters Melissa, Brittany, & Jessica, and her great-grandchildren, Rachel, Jayden, & Heather. She is pre-deceased by her husband, William Norman Dunning.
Margaret was born in Bayshore, Long Island, NY in 1933 and moved many times with her military husband, William Norman Dunning. Of the various places they lived, her favorite was when they were stationed in Italy. They moved to Satellite Beach, FL in the 1970’s.
Margaret grew up on a dairy farm in Long Island, NY and was very fond of animals. She had many pets over the course of her life, one of her favorites being Rinty, the German shepherd dog she grew up with.
She mostly kept busy as a wife and mother, occasionally worked, and enjoyed a few hobbies like puzzles, reading, crafting, and cake decorating. She also loved to travel, and had the privilege of visiting most of Europe and Israel twice.
Up until this past year, she was always a very active person. She loved to exercise with water aerobics and walking. She would zip by with her quick walk and seemed to only know one speed, fast!
Margaret also thoroughly enjoyed food. She met her husband when she was 17, he was a waiter on the ship (he had the bread tray). One of her granddaughters often teased that Margaret only noticed him because he had bread. Margaret was a wonderful cook and prepared many delicious meals for her family, her favorites being Italian cuisine.
She was a devout Catholic and an active member of her church, St George’s Catholic Community in Satellite Beach, FL; her favorite way to serve in the church was as a Reader. Margaret was a very generous and giving person, she regularly contributed to several charities, especially Food For The Poor. She firmly believed that no matter how much you had, someone always has less than you and we should do what we can to help those in need.
While her physical presence will be missed, her family is grateful for the legacy she leaves behind to each of them in the way she lived her life.
In lieu of flowers of gifts, we would ask that you consider making a donation to “Food For The Poor.” This charity was very special to Margaret and one she regularly gave to. Their website is https://foodforthepoor.org”
