

Margaret E. Slater, 85, of Rockledge, Florida, passed away on January 16th, 2021, at Rockledge Regional Medical Center. Margaret was born on January 20th, 1935, in Mount Hope, West Virginia, and came to Brevard County in 1970 from Oxon Hill, Maryland. During life, she worked as a secretarial clerk and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Cocoa.
Margaret is survived by her two brothers Buddy Forst of Texas and Wally Forst of Virginia; her former husband Harold Lee “Jim” Slater; four daughters Teresa Pokorny of Rockledge, Donna (David) Henderson of Rockledge, Jane (Boyd) Morgan of Melbourne, and Lori (Mike) Morgan of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren Kristen (Scott) Manning, Jonathan (Jessica) Pokorny, Brian (Brittany) King, Lance (Lauren) Morgan, Chase (Aimee) Campbell, Jenna (Michael) Osborn, and Amanda (Michel) Avey; and twenty great-grandchildren. Margaret’s loved ones who passed before her include her parents Charles F. and Mary Louise Forst; her two brothers Raymond Forst and William “Bill” Forst; and her grandson Brandon Henderson. She was a wonderful woman who loved her family deeply and will be dearly missed.

A visitation is being held at the First Baptist Church of Cocoa, 750 Brevard Ave, Cocoa, FL 32922, on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM, with a funeral service to follow there at 11:00 AM. Immediately following the funeral, a committal service is to be held at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, after which a reception is to be held at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial at 1:00 PM.
