Maria moved to NYC with her son George in the early 1950s. She worked in the accounting department of City Bank and enjoyed living nearby with her many sisters and brothers. Mercado and his wife Jerrilyn of Elyria, OH; sister Lcda Vidalia Rivera Garcia of San Juan, Puerto Rico; sister Eva Ronda of Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico; sister Agripina Rivera Garcia of Tampa, FL; brother Joe of N.Y.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2021 at Florida Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at 1:30 pm followed by a celebration of her life at 2 pm.
