

Chief Master Sergeant Marland Eugene Lee retired after serving over 30 years in the Military. His career in the Air Force started on the B-25 and B-50 Heavy Bombers. In the late 1950s, he flew on and served as crew chief on the B-47M and crewed and flew on the KC-97 an aerial refueling tanker. He then transferred to Missile organization serving 3 years on an Atlas missile operational launch crew at Frances E. Warren AFB, Wyoming. Marland transferred to Vandenberg AFB, California where he ended his career serving as Pad Chief for the Thor Missile Launch Team in support of the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP). Upon his retirement from the Air Force Marland joined the civilian space program and transferred to Kennedy Space Center in 1987 working for Martin Marietta on the Space Shuttle External Tank as Quality Engineer until his retirement in 1994
Marland is survived by his daughter, Laurie Lee Longmire; son, Wesley Allen Lee; daughter and son in law, Mike and Linda Lee Matthias; grandsons, Mitchell Matthias, Steven Longmire, Christopher Matthias; granddaughter, Emily Lee and great grandson, Noah Lee.
A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 9:00am to 9:45am at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL, with a Graveside Service to follow at 10:00am in Florida Memorial Gardens.
A Celebration of Marlands' Life will immediately follow at Mike and Linda Lee Matthias’ home, 218 Annalisa Place, Merritt Island, FL 32953
