Matt was a Military Police Combat Persian Gulf Veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force and then became a civilian police officer serving in the cities of Jacksonville, AR, Nantucket, MA, New Boston, NH, and his last duty, serving his community as a member of the Melbourne Police Department SWAT team where he retired.
Matthew was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend, and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his sons, Jamie Matthew and Dylan Douglas Daszuta, and their mother, Jo Ann Daszuta-Ashton; father Paul Daszuta; mother, Andrea Daszuta-Mazzone (Butch Mazzone); sisters, Sandra Monte (David Monte), Jessica Mazzone (Marshall Nails), Rachael Mazzone and Jacqueline Victoria Al-Qudah (Jehad Al-Qudah); brothers, Michael Mazzone (Melanie) and Matthew Mazzone, and several nieces and nephews .
There will be a visitation from 5 - 6 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, followed by a Celebration of Matthew's Life at 6 p.m. at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial. Condolences may be left at floridamemorialfh.com
