Maureen (Moe) Ashley Allison was born on Thanksgiving Day, November 22, 1984 in Stanford California, and passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 in Viera, Florida. Her death was peaceful, but unexpected due to complications and emergency surgery.
She has been preceded in death by her father, Alan Allison, her grandparents, Rose and Red Allison, Opal and Arthur Spleiss, her cousins Thomas and Carrie Allison, her uncles Robert and Patrick Allison. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen Allison, her brother Sean Allison, sister in law Pam Allison, her sister, Katie Schmidt, brother in law, Martin Schmidt, her aunts Lynn Aubright, Linda Allison, and Judy Allison, her uncle Arthur Spleiss, her cousins Michael Allison, Amy Allison, Candi Ylhainen, Kyle and Neil Spleiss, and Karin Adams, her nieces and nephews Martin and Jason Schmidt, Marina and Michael Porter, Aura, Jerimias, Ericka, Vilma and Marcus Allison and grandnephew, Abraham Porter.
She was kind soul and her smile would light up a room. However, Moe liked the bad guys and Disney Villains. She loved the Star Wars Dark Side members and loved to hear someone say to her “The Force is strong with this one”. She liked to call herself Darth Mobius or MobiWon Kenobi. She shared her love of Star Wars with many members of the Allison family.
Moe was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Palo Alto California, She had her First Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kissimmee, and was confirmed at Woodlands Lutheran Church in Mont Verde. She was a founding member of Hope Lutheran church in Viera, and liked to sing in the choir.
Her education included grammar school at Trinity Lutheran School in Kissimmee. She attended middle school in Lake county where she earned a savings bond for having perfect attendance and there she found her love for botany and horticulture. She was a green thumb and grew cacti, flowers, and vegetables. She went to Eastridge High School in Clermont and transferred to Rockledge High School where she graduated.
She worked for Starbucks almost 15 years and for 7 years prior, she worked for Walt Disney World at the Hollywood Studios. She was proud of her work and was known for her positive personality and being a team player. She and her mother bought a house together and they worked on the house side by side. Moe and her mother had a wonderful symbiotic relationship. Life will not be the same without her. However, Moe is in a happier place surrounded by those who have passed before her.
There will be a short graveside service at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955, Saturday, August 13th at 3 pm. There will be a Celebration of Life/Memorial service and reception on Saturday, September 10th at 10 am at Faith Lutheran Church in Viera.
