

Muriel Carlberg passed away on July 15, 2015 at Palm Cottages at the age of 94 after a several year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Brooklyn, New York the daughter of Mae and Fred Neger. As the oldest of three sisters, she took care of them in the earlier years of her life. She caringly raised her only son. Muriel worked in various clothing boutiques in the 1950's in Miami Beach and later in Atlanta where she met her beloved husband, Curtis of the last 35 years of her life. She and Curtis moved to Brevard County where they have been residents for the past thirteen years. She loved dancing, golf, cooking, and playing bunco. She was a faithful member of Advent Lutheran Church in Viera where she attended services every Sunday.She is survived by her beloved husband, Curtis; her son, Dr. Daniel Scheuerer; her caring daughter-in-law, Diane; her younger sister, Marie Van Praag; two grandsons, Daniel Todd (Barbara) and David (Paula), and two great grandchildren, Alana and Dylan Scheuerer.A private interment will take place at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge. A Memorial Service will be held in several days at Advent Lutheran Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Brevard Hospice of St Francis or to the Alzheimer's Association.
