Regina Hennes

Regina Hennes, 88, of Melbourne, passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at home. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and came to Brevard County in 1971 from Long Island, New York. She worked for years as a cashier at Grey's Drug Store. She was married for 49 years to her wonderful husband, who passed away 20 years ago. Regina loved spending time with family in New York and Florida, playing Bingo, Yhatzee, and Rack-O, and was a soap opera fan until the end. She loved to travel to New York and had a sweet tooth. She loved cupcakes, raspberry sticks, and peppermint patties, and enjoyed shopping and eating out. She was a caring, loving, and wonderful person who always had a smile on her face and kind words to say. Regina is survived by a son, Ronald; daughter, Patricia (John) Steel; nine grandchildren, Laura, Sandra, Michelle, Kevin, Sherry, Shawn, John, Denise, and Michael; twenty one great-grandchildren, Brandon, Jordan, Tawny, Lisa, Jack, Samantha, Danielle, Robbie, Krista, Jennifer, Joey, Jeffery, James, John, Tyler, Zack, Nichole, Rhyan, William, Sean, and JJ; and seven great-great-grandchildren, Matthew, Cassondra, Harley, Jasmine, CJ, Spencer, and Serinity; and one sister, Rosie. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Raymond, and three brothers, Bud, Walter, and Tom. A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12 from to 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home.
