Robert is survived by his wife Angela Scardaville-Deutsch; his children Gustav Deutsch and Carlena Cisneros; his mother, Anne Deutsch, seven brothers and sisters; and innumerable aunts, uncles, and cousins.
As a child, Bob’s family lived in Germany and various states due to Nick’s military service.
Bob served in the US Army and by the time he was 19 he was a first lieutenant stationed in Germany. He was involved with the NATO defense and in charge of 6,155 artillery guns. After his service, he attended the University of Illinois and received an MA in Communications and Political Science.
After college, he built and rehabbed houses in Chicago and began a successful entertainment coupon book, “On the Town.” In his 30’s Bob married Jeanne Anderson and had his two children.
Bob was an adventurous world traveler. He traveled across the Sahara Desert, skied the Alps, white-water rafted in Costa Rica, and visited a vast number of countries.
Scuba-diving, parachuting, racing cars, skiing and flying planes were just a few of his passions. If it involved speed and adventure, Bob was the first to sign up.
Loved and admired by many, Bob will definitely be missed and mourned.
Two of his favorite phrases were, “We’re not here for a long time, we’re here for a good time,” and “Life has many chapters.” Here’s to you, Bob. We know you’re on to your next good time and new chapter!
