Robert W. Thigpen, 66, retired from AT&T, passed away in Austin, Texas on Thursday, April 12, 2012. He was born in Savannah, Georgia. Robert is survived by his wife, Carolyn Thigpen; daughter Linda I. Mullen and her husband, Danny Mullen of Elkhart, Indiana; son, John R. Thigpen and his wife, Karen Thigpen of Austin, Texas; two grandsons; nine granddaughters; two sisters, Rebbeca S. Wilharm and Nancy Thigpen, Both of Savannah, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Delores James of Atlanta, Georgia; and three brothers, David James and his wife Martha James of Dickinson, North Dakota, Luther James and Kazie James of Merritt Island, Florida, and Mark James, also of Merritt Island; and many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Florida Memorial Funeral Home from 6-8pm, and a funeral service on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockledge, Florida.
