In loving memory of our dad, Ronald G. Bryant, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the age of 82 and who has gone home to be with his Lord and Savior. He was surrounded by his loving family during his final moments.
He was born in Burnside, Kentucky on August 3, 1941, to the late Harold and Wilma Bryant.
He is survived by his brother, Perry W. Bryant (David); his first wife Maria L. Bryant; daughter Debbie Bryant-Kayser (David); son Mike Bryant (Julie), grandsons Aidan and Joshua Bryant; stepdaughter Shelli Biediger, step granddaughters Shannon Biediger, Emma Hubbs (Damien), and Katina Hoag-Roberts (Tom), step great-grandchildren Caleb and Windy Roberts; stepson Matt Cook, step granddaughter Cassidy Cook. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Wilma Bryant and second wife, Mary Bryant.
Ron was a force of positive energy. He shared his love of life and people with everyone he met. There were no strangers to him. He was a strong man who faced his blindness with courage, strength, and dignity. He worked hard to help others who were challenged with low or no vision to see the possibilities in life and all that could still be enjoyed. He was a member of the National Federation of the Blind – Space Coast Chapter, the Azan Shriners and the Plattsmouth #6 Masonic Lodge.
He loved to spend time with family and friends and when his children were younger and the family moved to a new place, would always encourage them by saying “get out there, this place is only going to be as good as you make it.” He was a man of strong faith and used every opportunity to tell others about Jesus Christ.
Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force, served honorably for 30 years as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer and Commissioned Officer, eventually achieving the rank of Major.
He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held September 29, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Please come dressed casually as dad would have wanted this. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hospice of Health First for their compassionate care during our father’s illness.
In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made in tribute to either the Daily Bread of Melbourne (https://www.dailybreadinc.org/make-a-donation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html.
