Roy E. Eaton, age 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 7th, 2023. Born in Bradenton, Florida June 16, 1948 to his loving parents Vivan and Glenn Eaton. He grew up in Miami, Florida along with his sister Glenda and brother Robert.
He had many adventures stirring up trouble at Miami Coral Park High School. After high school, Roy enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served his country proudly for over 24 years. During his career as an operating room technician, Roy earned many honors and recognition for his service. One of his proudest moments of his career was becoming a First Sergeant in 1987. He was always the “go to guy” in his department and with his quick wit, one-liners, and “zingers”, there was never a dull moment when he was around. He was the life of the party and never met a stranger – both at work and play. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, Roy continued to serve and give back to his country with a second career at the VA Clinic in Viera.
Family was always one of his greatest loves. He shared a wonderful life with his beloved wife, Linda, by his side. Together they raised and watched their four children grow and start new lives of their own. He was a loving father to Natasha, Megan, Glenn, and Justin. He also welcomed his son-in-law Manny and his daughter-in-law Alexandria to his family. His greatest joy came from being a grandpa to Lyllee, Penelope, Ashlyn, Jaxon, Leilani, Maddox, and Houston.
On any given weekend, you could find Roy enjoying his free time off shore fishing or hunting with family and friends.
We will celebrate Roy’s life Monday, February 13, 2023. The viewing will be at 1:00 pm at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial (5950 S US Hwy 1, Rockledge, FL 32955). A celebration of life service will follow at 2 PM, with entombment and reception to follow.
