Ruth Kayel Larkin, 89, of Merritt Island passed away August 2, 2011. Ruth was born in Brooklyn, New York to Joseph and Charlotte Kayel on September 22, 1921.

Ruth was active member of Georgiana Methodist Church, Merritt Island Woman's Club, United Methodist Women, and Grumman Retiree Club, as well as being a past member of Brevard Realtor Association.

Ruth loved to dance, travel, play bridge with her bridge club, bowl, and had many friends. But she will be remembered most of all for her poetry.

Ruth came to Brevard County in 1965 from Bellport, New York where she became an award winning realtor for 30 years and former owner of Sabrina's Attic in Cocoa Beach.

She was predeceased by her husband, Harold A. Larkin. Ruth is survived by her sons, Harold Larkin Jr. (Jan), Richard Larkin (Elaine),and Wayne Larkin (Stacy);grandchildren, Sheri Micheals, Richard Larkin Jr., Brian Allen Kevin Allen, Keith Allen, Amanda Larkin, Jessica Larkin, and Joseph Larkin; as well as 11 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Florida Memorial Funeral Home Thursday, August 4th, 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5th, at 11am with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow in Florida Memorial Gardens. Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Wuestoff Hospice in honor of Ruth.
