

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ted Stephen Hunt, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, educator, and adventurer. Ted passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on December 18, 2024.
Ted was the devoted husband of Diane Hunt and the cherished father of Ted Hunt Jr., Joshua Hunt, Michelle Hays, and Henry Browning. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and great-grandfather to two. Ted’s siblings include Earl Hunt Jr. (deceased), Michael Hunt (deceased), Susan Stewart, and Cindy Steward Mackes.
Ted dedicated his life to education, serving as a teacher, mentor, and friend to countless students and colleagues. His passion for learning, storytelling, and encouraging others defined his remarkable career. Ted authored written works that continue to inspire and educate, further cementing his legacy as a lifelong educator and guide.
Outside the classroom, Ted’s adventurous spirit shone brightly. His love for history—especially tales of ghosts and Spanish shipwrecks—fueled his passion for diving, treasure hunting, and exploration. Whether diving into underwater worlds, tracing his family’s ancestry, or wandering far-off lands, Ted embraced life with curiosity and joy.
Known for his warmth and humor, Ted was a storyteller at heart, captivating loved ones with tales of daring escapades over a rum and Coke. He lived with boundless enthusiasm, cherishing time with family and friends while always dreaming of his next adventure.
A proud member of the Masonic Order, Ted also found fulfillment in his contributions to the community, embodying the values of service, integrity, and fellowship.
A celebration of Ted’s life will be held on January 17, 2025.
Ted Stephen Hunt lived a life full of passion, purpose, and love. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered with gratitude and affection.
