Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary (Fisher) Rose, daughters Theresa Trent, Alyce Higginbotham (Jeff), and Diana Cowart of Melbourne, sons Thomas F. Rose, Jr. (Maggie) of Portsmouth, VA and John Rose (Allan) of Melbourne. Beloved Papa is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his sister Dorothy (Dot) Gannon of Cincinnati, OH and his son-in-law Carl Cowart of Melbourne.
He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana to Ernest Rose and Alice Sharpe. Alice died at a young age and Thomas was raised by his father and stepmother, Bobbie. A proud veteran, Thomas served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Goodrich as a Radio Man 3 from 1954 to 1958. Shortly thereafter he was married to the love of his life, Mary. A true love of the ages.
Thomas worked hard in his career as a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier in both Ohio and Florida and ultimately retired in 1992. His passions in life always revolved around his family. From coaching baseball teams for his children, to spending time with the grandchildren after school, to just hanging out at home watching TV with his beloved wife, his family was always at the forefront of his mind. Throughout the years he did find time for himself and enjoyed traveling, playing golf and fishing.
Friends and family will be received at The Life Event Center at Florida Memorial (5950 S. US Highway #1, Rockledge, FL 32955) on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a Celebration of Life immediately to follow.
