Thomas moved from Port St. Lucie, FL area to Brevard county in 2015. He worked as an iron worker for US Steel and became a member of the Iron Workers Local 361. He served his country during WWII in the Phillipines area.
He is survived by three daughters, Barbara Heller, Demetria Vassilaros and Thelma Claxton; one brother, Tony Atheling; three grandsons, Jason Scianno, Jesse Scianno and Christopher Calvi; three grand daughters, Jennifer Calvi, Dawn Valderrama, Sanita Vassilaros; 6 great grandchildren, Jayden and Julia Scianno, Lucian Scianno and Rayanna Calvi, Jenna and Carrisa Valderrama ; nieces and nephews, Dean and Julie Papadakis, George Lefas, Dianna Lefas, Louie and Anne Lefas, Dan and Pat Vassilaros, and Richard Vassilaros.
Thomas has requested no memorials, as he wanted no frills but will rest peacefully in the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL.
