My condolences to you for your loss.
I worked with your dad at NTC Orlando Jan 1984 to Jan 1986.
He had invited us to his home several times and I've thought of him many times over the years.
He was a mentor and friend to me and many others.
He was the epitome of a good man.
Rest in peace Mr. Palmer.

Uncle Truman was the rock of our family. He knew where everybody was and how they were doing. There was always a celebration when he came to town with everybody getting together.  He traveled the world and had a good life. Thank you Hook for watching over him when he needed it and keeping him independent.  We will always remember him with love.

I said goodbye to uncle Truman today. Rest in peace. I sure miss our phone conversations and I’m glad you had such a full life. Family was always important to you and now I have lost the last of my mothers siblings. I am sure you are having a “ Hot soup“With uncle Jimmy. I will miss you saying vertical and breathing it was always important. Love you very much

Family was very important to Uncle Truman. I had many conversations with him in researching our family heritage. He sent me many inquiries from distant relatives and we worked on it together.  His visits to Ohio were always a big deal for the family to all get together.

One of my fondest memories was a picture of me he sent several years back of me as a child.  He paid me a dollar to take that picture of me.  He thought I should have that picture!

Thankful he had my sister near to look after him so he could continue his independent style of living. He was all about both, family and independence

Glad  I got to learn so much family history from him. He will be greatly missed, but it's comforting to know he's with family again.

RIP Uncle Truman we'll miss you!

Truman was my neighbor 3 houses down. I am a nurse so always kind of kept an eye out for him. He was a quiet sort but I would stop in my car and ask how he was doing. He was a fighter in that he always kept moving, walking, or working in his yard. I remember when I was still working fulltime and going in at 0615, he would be sitting at the table reading the paper, I presume. I know he had a long, good life, but I am sad at his passing and will miss him. Prayers of comfort to his family.  

I remember my Uncle Truman fondly and am proud to be his nephew. Uncle Truman — like my mother and their other siblings — to be warm and friendly. He was also a man of few words, preferring to play the quiet observer. I do recall that when my uncle spoke, it was because he had something important to say, and when he did break his silence, he was always direct and to the point. It is interesting to me that Uncle Truman as well as his four brothers all served in the military — with a few of them making it a career. I suspect being raised on the farm outside Painesville, OH (with its harsh winters and work) may have had something to do with both his military-style work ethic as well as his preference for solitude and quiet.  

Like me, Uncle Truman liked history and learning about family ancestry. At some point in my study of our family history, I learned that the Palmer line goes back to Walter Palmer arriving in MA in 1629 and later Sea Captain Walter Palmer (1739-1775) in Stonington, CT. Once, when we were talking about our lineage, he said: “Bob, for gosh sakes, when I was a boy they told us the Palmers go back to the time of the Mayflower, and I know there’s a book about that.” He and I had a great many talks about family in general, their early life in Ohio and his older sister, my mother, Frances.

Truman was a strong, quiet, no-nonsense, kind, and loving man. I am grateful to have known him and even more grateful to be related to him. May his memory be a blessing. 



Truman was a good neighbor & friend for 30 years we will miss his smile & wit. It was a honor to know such a patriotic veteran,  a member of the greatest generation.  He now joins his love ones in Heaven to Rest In Peace. 

Will always remember his great driving and our last walk together a few years ago, he accused me of being to slow🤣🤣🤣also will miss when I call him and he would always tell me he was “vertical and ventilating”. Glad hook could be there to take care of him all these years so he could live at his house! Rest In Peace uncle Truman 

Uncle Truman was a real family man. Always tried to visit everyone when he came to Ohio. My husband liked going to the different cemeteries with him and learning family history. He referred to me about a month ago as " the lady who sends all the cards ". I'll miss sending them.

He was still driving himself from Florida to Ohio at 90.  He will be missed - the last of my grandmother’s generation.
  

Uncle Truman would travel and always come home to Painesville, Ohio to visit.  When he came the family always gathered to visit, share a meal or drinks.  It was always a happy occasion.  He always stressed that Family was very important!  I will miss all your stories!!
