I worked off and on as an accountant. I had taken several bookkeeping positions through temporary agencies. Over the years through some home study and on-the-job training, I eventually acquired the title "Accountant." However, nobody wanted to hire an ACCOUNTANT married to a serviceman (the family moved too frequently). I normally had to back into positions by proving myself through temporary agencies. Over the years, I identified three embezzlements.
How would I like you to remember me? I was terribly human. I made a lot of mistakes for which I am deeply sorry. However, I loved my family...and people in general. I had many of the blessings that life has to offer, but I think I grew more and was more challenged by the poorer times. I remember one gift-giving occasion when I was absolutely broke. I created cook books for my children, printing out my favorite recipes (foods they had eaten all of their lives)...then I painted a still life in water color for the cover of each book. I enjoyed creating baby afghans for newborns, then would use the afghan as "wrapping paper" for a bundle of disposable diapers. (That kind of demonstrates my father's nationality...wrapping paper is a WASTE of money).
So, in closing, I must return to the central point of my life. I KNOW my Lord is real. I believe that though my body may die, my soul is very much alive and well. I look forward to SINGING praises to my Lord and Savior in Heaven... and I can't wait to see my family and beloved friends again.
