

Willie was born in Foley, Florida (Taylor county) and graduated from Taylor County High School in Perry, Florida in 1962. He entered the United States Air Force in 1965 and retired at Patrick AFB in 1985, after being stationed throughout the country and overseas. He started his second career at the Kennedy Space Center/Cape Canaveral and retired in 2000. He enjoyed socializing at the local VFW, the NCO/Officers club, and the American Legion and volunteered at the Merritt Island Rifle range. He suffered a stroke in 2012, which left paralysis on the left side of his body. He was cared for by his devoted wife, for the remaining 9 years of his life.
Willie Bowers passed away May 29, 2021 at the age of 77 at Rockledge Regional Medical Center in Rockledge, Florida.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ethel Lee Miller-Bowers and his children Michael Bowers (Veronica), Dawayne Bowers, Ayanna Alaezi Mensah (Raymond), and brother Jerry Bowers. He is also the beloved Grandfather to Ambri, Sam, Justin, Andrew, Victoria, Niko, Trinity, Ausher, Ira, Kosi, Benjamin, and Harmony. Predeceased by his parents (Will & Emma Turner Bowers), siblings (Louise, Albert, Ira, Joe) and grandson (Michael Jr.). He will also be affectionately missed by nieces/nephews, in-laws, neighbors, and friends.
Family and friends will be received at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial (5950 US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida) for a viewing at 10 am- 11am, following a short service at 11am, with burial immediately after.
He will always hold a very special place in our hearts.
