Lou (Susie) Durham Batts, 72, passed away peacefully January 13, 2015. She was born, March 2, 1942, in Nash County, NC. Susie was a member of Englewood Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Guy (Toby) Staton Batts, father, Walter Rudolph Durham and mother, Pattie Bottoms Durham. She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her loving daughter Tammy Batts Brake and Son-in-law Michael Brake, along with her three adoring grandsons: Zachary Michael Brake and wife Hailey, Tanner Batts Brake, and Colton Joseph Brake, all of Rocky Mount. She also leaves behind, Brother Rudy Durham and sister-in-law Valerie, of Wilson, along with her Sister Kay Whitlock and Brother Mike Durham, of Elm City. Aside from her family, Susie had a group of special ladies whom cared for her as her health declined, and whom she cherished dearly.
