The two were joined in marriage on September 7, 1958, a union lasting 53 years. Arlis and Doris loved each other dearly, but above all, they loved and served their Lord. They were members of Westside Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.
Survivors include their children, Darrell Metcalf of Avoca, Kelly Taylor and husband Kevin, of Rogers; grandchildren, Jeremy Metcalf and wife Denita, Jerred Metcalf, Melissa Elliott and husband Lance, Sarah Woodie, Christy Tripodi and husband Trevin, Jordan Kimball and husband Fred; seven great-grandchildren, Morgan Metcalf, Danika and Sydney Elliott, Chandler and Cadence Woodie, Eli Tripodi and Maddox Kimball. They were also surrounded by many loving church family members and friends.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 11, at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Avoca.
