

Donald Perry Dassonville, 101 of Rogers, passed away Friday, December 9. He was born October 29, 1915 in Oakland, California to the late William Edward and Gertrude Blanche Perry Dassonville. For 55 years he was the adoring husband of Emily Hining Dassonville who preceded him in February, 1995. He was a WW2 veteran who proudly served in the US Army in the South Pacific and a Life Member of the DAV. He always enjoyed the outdoors! From his early years spending time in the Sierra Madre’ mountains with his father, a renowned photographer, while waiting for that perfect shot; in his teens, working on projects to become one of the first 20 Eagle scouts; as an adult building their ranch with his own two hands or in his later years, advising friends when to trim or plant for the most beautiful blossoms. He maintained a very busy life, having retired from careers as both an instructor of upholstery and as a rancher. His Masonic and Shrine involvement included serving as Past Master of Lodges; Past Patron within Eastern Star; Past President of Shrine Clubs; an active member of Shrine temples in the US and Mexico and honorary member of a number of lodges and temples. He was named a recipient of the Hiram Award by the Grand Lodge of California. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N.
