

He joined the Navy in 1956 and was honorably discharged.
On June 10th, 1960, he married the love of his life Patricia Ann Lanier in West Palm Beach Florida. Together they had three children, Angela, Roger and Keith. The family moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1976 due to his love of traveling and camping.
He was active in the Baptist Church serving as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher.
In 1977 he started ARK Electric as an electrical contractor.
In 1994 with the love for the electrical trade and the need for apprenticeship training he founded Arkansas College of Electricity.
He had an impact on many lives in the electrical trade. He served on the State Electrical Apprentice Committee from 1999 to 2020.
He belonged to the Christian Motorcycle Association traveling all throughout the United States on his motorcycle. He also traveled to Israel twice and wanted to go for a third time.
He enjoyed the outdoors camping, canoeing and spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his parents Roger and Katherine Chaple, son Keith Chaple, brother David Chaple.
Survived by his loving wife Patsy; daughter Angela Vanhouden; son Roger Chaple (Debbie); brothers Paul Chaple and Michael Chaple; sister Kathy Durbin; grandchildren Brendon Coffman, Chelsea Skaggs (Zack), Cortnie Chaple, Michal Chaple; great grandchildren Teagan Skaggs, Berkley Skaggs, Zachary Coffman; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He will be remembered for his storytelling, his sense of humor, his smile and love for the electrical trade.
Visitation will be held at Rollins Funeral Home, 1401 West Hudson Road, Rogers, Arkansas, on April 9, 2026, beginning at 2:30 pm.

A Committal Service will be held at Fayetteville National Cemetery, 1000 S Lt Col Leroy Pond Ave, Fayetteville, AR 72701, on April 10, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am.
