

Katie M. Jones, 88, passed away on June 20, 2021 in Bentonville. She was born on May 31, 1933 in Yellville, Arkansas to the late Eben Albert and Nora Victoria (Morton) Ives. She was the wife of the late Loyd J. Jones who passed in 2016.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Rogers. She was a kind, gentle, person, who always had time for everyone. Katie was very active in the church and would help with any event at church including, Sabbath School, soup kitchen and fundraisers.
She was a strong woman who had many talents. She enjoyed baking (and could make wonderful bread), cooking any type of food, but especially creating delicious vegetarian meals, sewing and quilting. She could even write poetry.
Katie loved her children and tried to lead a good example for them. Her siblings, nieces, and nephews were also very dear to her. She will be missed by both her family and her church family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings, John Ives, Eben Ives, Harvey Paul, Annie Gatewood, Nellie Carrico, and Alfred Paul.
Katie is survived by her children, , Nora “Betsy” Schooler and husband, George of Michigan, George Thompson of Rogers, Annell Caroline “Carrie” Rivers and husband, Ben of Rogers, Ed Thompson of Rogers; brothers, Frank Ives of Florida and Dan Ives of Yellville; sister, Caroline Ives Poindextor of Oklahoma; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 4pm the Rogers Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
