

He was raised by his step-father, Virgil and Grandmother Thompson from the time he was young. He was married to Colleen (Carneal) Walter for 54 years, before she passed in 1996 from cancer.
During WWII, he was assigned to the Alternative Services as an essential worker to milk cows for the soldiers.
He was a painter most of his life and enjoyed helping others with projects after retiring. He always gave his time without worrying about it. He loved joking with his family and they gave it back as well. He enjoyed spending time at the beach and traveling. He was a family man and had many adventures with them over time.
Gramps was the last of six children. His siblings were, Alice Harder, Ralph Walter, Cecil Park, Stella Stone, and Shirley Briggs.
Ken is survived by his third wife of 15 years, Ruth (Snide) Walter; son, Thom Walter and his wife, Judi; daughter, Donna Smith and her husband, Larry; grandchildren, Michelle Williams (Bryon), Will Walter (Jenny), Kenny Smith (Nancy Pickney), and Christi Brown; great-grandchildren, Trevor Williams, Laura Walter, Ashley Roush (Donnie), Shane Smith, Coco Smith, Owen Lauzon, Violet Walter, and Henry Walter; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Jacob and Evelyn Roush; and sister-in-law, Maxine Gerke.
He would want each of you to know that you were loved and that he wanted to see each of you in Heaven on that glorious day when we can all meet again.
