Nathaniel “Nathan” Alan Wainwright, 43, of Springdale, Arkansas went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 6, 2023. Visitation will be November 13, 2023 from 5-7pm at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Funeral services to honor his memory will be held on November 14 at 1pm in Rogers Christian Church. Burial to follow at Silent Grove Cemetery in Springdale.
Nathan was born in Moline, Illinois on February 28, 1980 to Michael and Kim Wainwright. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a devout Christian, and a generous man. He grew up the oldest of three, taking responsibility early in life. Always a diligent employee, he found success in all his secular endeavors, including building an online music business later in life. He met Chrissy, his wife of 21 years, at Western Illinois University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Public Communication. It was here, in addition to discovering the love of his life, he devoted himself to being a Christian minister. Getting a masters degree in Church Leadership from Lincoln Christian Seminary, he served in pastoral support roles in Illinois and Indiana before planting a brand new church in New Hampshire. During this time, his son Eli was born, in 2012. Nathan took a job in Fayetteville, Arkansas leading a church relaunch in 2015. In the spring of 2016, he was diagnosed with stage IV Renal Cell Carcinoma and given a prognosis of less than 1 year. Whether it was divine intervention, medical advances, or simply him being too stubborn to stop breathing, Nathan valiantly fought his terminal illness for over 7 years, before reaching the end of his time on this planet. His dedication not to be defined by his illness and to support others with his unique sense of humor overshadowed his more depressive spells. Being someone who supported others even when he most needed support was something that defined him.
Those left to carry on his memory are his son, Eli; wife, Christine “Chrissy”; siblings, Joshua (Eve) Wainwright and Bethany (Adriel) Reed; his mother, Kim Wainwright; grandfather, Glen Wainwright; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Mike on March 20, 2023; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandmother.
While no one would categorize his life as one of greatness or notoriety, he fought with everything he had, to remain as long as he could, to support the family that he loved more than anything. Overcoming physical, emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges over the last 7 years he sought to forgive everyone in the way he believed his Savior offered him forgiveness.
His deepest wish is that, upon his departure from this world, he heard the Creator say to him “Well done good and faithful servant, now enter into your rest!”
