

Renaldo Ernest Nardoni, a devoted and godly man, passed away on December 2, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on March 28, 1934, to Albert and Mary Nardoni in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Ren was one of eight children. At the age of nine, he moved to Chicago, where he developed a passion for art, winning an art competition from the Art Institute of Chicago in the 8th grade and receiving classes there.
After graduating from Fenger High School in Chicago, Ren began his long career at the Ford Motor Company. He started at the Ford airplane plant in Chicago, where he met the love of his life, Darlene, and soon after he began working at the Ford automotive stamping plant in Chicago Heights, Illinois. After 33 years dedicated to the Ford Motor Company, Ren retired as a Quality Control Analyst Supervisor in 1985 at the age of 51.
Ren said that from the moment he saw Darlene, he knew he would marry her. The pair married on September 3, 1955, and shared 70 years of happiness together. Ren was a devoted family man, cherishing his two children, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, driving them around on his golf cart, taking them fishing on the lake, and teaching them to golf.
Ren loved spending time with his family, serving at his church, golfing, fishing, playing cards and ping-pong. He also loved reading his Bible. A man of conviction and integrity, he was known for his honesty, generosity, and compassion. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he was committed to witnessing and sharing the gospel.
Ren was ordained as a deacon at Temple Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois where he was a member for 6 years. He was a member of Lorimer Memorial Baptist Church in Dolton, Illinois for 25 years, and a deacon at Bella Vista Baptist Church for 40 years. He taught Sunday school to both 4th-grade boys and adults for many years and was active in various church capacities.
Ren is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene, his daughter Sheri Peters and her husband Randy of Lake Mary, Florida, his son Glen Nardoni and his wife Beth of Rogers, Arkansas, and his grandchildren, Kristen Dugan, Kara Nardoni, Stacy (John) Henson, and Noah (McKenzi) Nardoni. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Wells Henson and Townes Henson, and his sister Eleanor Gagliano of Calumet City, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary Nardoni, his brothers Hank and Carlo Nardoni, and his sisters Nancy Garzelloni, Evelyn Borgo, Betty Tollis, and Lorraine Nardoni.
Ren's life was a testament to his selfless, kind-hearted, and honest nature. He will be remembered for his readiness to help anyone in need and his unwavering love for his family and faith.
