Rick was born on February 5, 1947, to Chuck and Millie Hinson in Butler, Missouri. He moved to Rogers, Arkansas, in 1950, where he spent his formative years surrounded by family and friends. One of Rick's fondest childhood memories was riding his horse Trixie and enjoying picnic lunches at Little Sugar Creek.
Rick's education began at Mrs. Hawkins' kindergarten class, and he went on to graduate from Rogers High School with the Class of '65. Following his passion for learning and service, Rick enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country for 4 years. He later graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 1973.
On August 24, 1968, Rick married the love of his life, Vera Brown Hinson, in Clarksville, Arkansas, between his tours to Vietnam. Their union of nearly 56 years was marked by deep love, unwavering commitment, and countless cherished memories.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Millie Hinson, his stepmother Lucille Hinson, and his brother Tom. He is survived by his devoted wife, Vera, and their son Marcus. Rick also leaves behind his wonderful daughter-in-law, Megan Phillips Hinson, and his adored grandsons, Owen and Colin. He will be deeply missed by his nieces, nephews, and a host of friends whose lives he touched with his warmth and generosity.
Rick had a zest for life that was evident in his love for travel, his passion for scuba diving, and his joy in spending time with family and friends. His laughter and kind spirit will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
A visitation for Rick will be held at Pinnacle Memorial Gardens on Thursday, June 20th from 10:30-12:00.
