Robert Roy Riley Jr.

Graveside services for Robert Roy Riley Jr., 91, of Rogers AR will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:30 am at Roselawn Memorial Cemetery, Calhoun, LA. Rev. Ray Jones will officiate under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.

Roy was born February 21, 1920 in Stephens AR and went to be with his Lord on June 15, 2011 after a lengthy illness. For over forty years Roy was the owner and operator of Roy Riley Air Conditioning in Monroe, LA.

Prior to that he served as Sergeant 1st Class in the Army Air Corps stationed in England during World War II. Roy served for many years as a deacon and Sunday School teacher, first at Parkview Baptist Church and later at Emmanuel Church in Monroe. After moving to Arkansas, he taught Sunday School at the First Baptist Church in Rogers. He was also active in Gideons International.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Roy Riley Sr. and Grace Starnes Riley, brother, Keith Riley, sisters Carolyn Medeiros and Mary Grace Bristol and wife of fifty-six years, Jessie Gaynelle Reeves Riley.

Roy is survived by his wife, Louise Sooter Riley of Rogers, AR, sister Evelyn Morgan of New Iberia, LA, sons Jerry Glen (Skipper) Riley and Harold Roy Riley of West Monroe, LA, daughter Amy Talley and husband Larry Eugene Talley of Rogers, AR. Grandchildren Lori Allison Talley, Kristi Shannon Talley, Seth Jackson Talley and wife Jennifer, John Michael Riley and wife Kari, Melissa Marie Riley, Jessica Lea Weaver and husband Jeremy, Shelly Hudson and Jacob Roy Riley; great grandchildren Matthew Riley, Grant, Lauren and Blake Seidel, Kourtney Kuerbs, Shelby Weaver and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel from 5 until 7 pm.

There will also be a visitation held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 9 until 11 at Mulhearns Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. Memorial donations may be made to the Gideons International, www.gideons.org.
